Shopping In Chattanooga

Shopping has been called America's national past time. Whether it hearkens back to the days of hunting and gathering or not, there is not denying that we love to shop. Feathering yourself and your nest has become high priority for every income level. For a long time, Chattanooga was a shopping desert and the advent of internet shopping brought a "Hallelujah Chorus" heard city wide. Those days are over, fortunate for those of us who reside in the Scenic City and shopping for neccessities and frivolities alike has become a pleasure.

Warehouse Row

Warehouse Row has had many identities in the nearly 20 years I have lived in Chattanooga. From outlet shopping to ghost town and now, the center of boutique shopping and dining in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, the real estate has always offered great potential. Now shops such as J Crew and Anthropologie reside near their neighbors Amanda Pinson Jewelry and Embellish, a high end shoe store catering to Chattanooga's fashionistas. The public spaces of the Warehouse Row are drool and photograph worthy, styled by Revival owner Rodney Simmons. Wonderful restaurants such at Tupelo Honey and The Public House offer refreshments after an afternoon of shopping.

Cambridge Square

Ooltewah has been experiencing a revival of sorts. From the influx of residents who want to live closer to work at the Volkswagen plant and Amazon center, to the residents of the farms and beautiful neighborhoods in the area, everyone is desiring a unique shopping experience closer to home. Lupis,Southern Burger and Wine Down Ooltewah are just a few of the restaurants, while Yoga East , Spalon Three and Cambridge Square fits that bill with shops, restaurants and community events such as live music during the summer.

Hamilton Place and Northgate

The mall is a dying breed in America, but that does not mean shopping is dying. Recent years has seen a change in the way we shop, with the addition of open air shopping in mixed use buildings and the addition of upscale restaurants. The Hamilton Place and Northgate mall areas have seen the addition of such shopping and dining venues pop up in the last few years. Popular chain stores and restaurants offer the ease of parking and walking directly to the store along with a huge variety. Loft, Eddie Bauer, Michael's and many more are nestled in along Panera, Red Robin and PF Chang.

Boutiques

Boutique stores abound in the Chattanooga area, with a high concentration in North Chattanooga.Sophie's, Merch and Blue Skies can be found as well as Trek and Fast Break, a local running store. Blue Door Boutique, Southern Charm and Irma Marie are newer upscale boutiques in East Brainerd. Shopping local is so easy in Chattanooga with more boutiques opening weekly it seems.
