Hallelujah! The ground hog predicted an early spring! It's Super Bowl Weekend! For most of us, this means chowing down on some snacks and catching all the fun commercials (and hopefully watching Peyton Manning win!). Still there are a few other fun things to do in Chattanooga this weekend as well. Here are your best bets for a fun one.
A Bear Called Paddington
The adventures of one of the world's most adored characters is live at the Chattanooga Theater Centre for the final shows this weekend. Geared towards elementary school children and a good introduction to theater, The Adventures of A Bear Called Paddington. The Chattanooga Theater Centre is a wonderful local treasure and every show I have seen there has been top notch. The best part is you can make a day of it and have ice cream at Clumpies or hot chocolate at Stone Cup (I recommend the dalmatian hot chocolate). Tickets are available online and at the box office for all shows. Show times are Friday at 7pm, Saturday 2:30 and 7pm and Sunday at 2:30. Located at 400 River Street.
The Breakfast Club
Everyone's favorite 1980's tribute band is playing tonight at the Revelry Room. Take the kids to see Paddington and then home to the sitter and enjoy a night out reliving your middle and high school years. The Breakfast Club is one of Chattanooga's most fun cover bands covering everything from Bon Jovi to A Flock of Seagulls. Show starts at 9pm. Tickets are available at the door. 41 East 14th St in the Chattanooga Choo Choo complex.
SNL's Time Meadows at the Comedy Catch
If you are a even a little bit of a "Saturday Night Live" fan and you watched it in the 1990's and early 2000's, you know and love Tim Meadows. The second longest running cast member of all time will be at The Comedy Catch on Friday and Saturday evening this weekend. With a career spanning over three decades, Tim Meadows has appeared in clubs and on shows and movies, but his best known role is as Leon "The Ladies Man" Phelps, the courvesier swilling talk show host. The Comedy Catch is enjoying a new location in the Chattanooga Choo-Choo at 29 E 14th St. Friday and Saturday, two sets each night, 7:30 and 9:45 pm. Tickets are available online.
Wish Bowl XII
Make a Wish East Tennessee is hosting the biggest Super Bowl party in Chattanooga at Stratton Hall. 100% of proceeds from the Wish Bowl XII directly benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. Tickets are available at different levels and include dinner, beer, wine and BIG SCREENS showing of the Super Bowl. Silent and live auction as well as a limited raffle for a 2015 Honda Accord. Tickets are $45-75 ($25 for children 3-12) and can be bought online. Party begins at 6 pm.Stratton Hall is located 3146 Broad Street.
If you are looking for a new home to have your 2017 super bowl party, we have two open houses this weekend! Pre-game and grab a Chattanooga Property Shop cookie at 4216 St. Elmo Ave or 295 The Pointe. Both are 2-4pm and will be packed, so go early!
