You can feel it in the air and see it in offices and businesses around town...it's Halloween! This weekend will be a full on party no matter what your age! From little kids getting tons of mileage out of that Halloween costume to us adults just wanting to cut loose a little and have fun, this weekend is not only Halloween, but also the end of daylight savings time for this year and it is cause for celebration. Here are your best bets for Chattanooga weekend fun!
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Tonight you can grab your toast and rice and head to one of two venues showing the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show. You have your choice of the Revelry Room for 18 and up or The Honest Pint for 21 and up. Both start at 9 pm and feature a live bands performing the music from the movie. Tickets are available at the door for $10. Should be a fun night to do "The Time Warp".
Lula Lake Open Day
Hit the trails to counter balance the candy you will inhale while you are handing out to the trick or treaters in your neighborhood or just go to enjoy the stunning beauty that is the Lula Lake Land Preserve. Located on Lookout Mountain, this beautiful preserve offers hiking trails, brow views of Chattanooga and north Georgia as well as the breathtaking falls. You can spend hours just wandering around and I recommend taking a picnic and spending the afternoon. Be sure to take your camera as the leaves are in peak form this week! Located at 5000 Lula Lake Road, directions and information can be found online. Hours are Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 12-5 pm.
Head over to Chattanooga's hottest bar for a fun grown up Halloween part. The Flying Squirrel is hosting it's Halloween bash live music (Behold the Brave and The Gills) drink specials, prizes for no costumes and best of all... no cover! Grab your date and round up all your friends and don your fanciest of costumes. The Flying Squirrel is located at 55 Johnson St and is open until 3 am.
The Chattanooga Market gets what it is like to be the parent who had to buy two different costumes because your child changed their mind in the middle of the week! Sunday, take your kids to the Chattanooga Market for a little more costume time for the Haunted Market and trick or treating. There is plenty of fall produce available (apples and gourds), the costume parade and the Habitat for Humanity Lego building event. Grab lunch and enjoy the fabulousness that is fall in Chattanooga! Located at 1826 Reggie White Boulevard and is open 11-4pm.
Fall is one of the very best times to live in Chattanooga. The weather is fantastic, there is something to do every day and of course, Chattanooga weekends allow you to capitalize on them all! Happy Halloween!
